Just attend one to get a feel for the pace, information, people and procedures. Don't bid on anything you have not personally looked at and touched, turned around, up side down etc. Run your fingers over every surface. The addiction of an auction is a winderful high and it might take a feel to wind down after purchasing your treasure. Attend a wide variety and then focus on those most likely to be in your price range and have the sort of items you desire. Don't forget to check eBay and ask questions or for more photos--hard to touch those items but good reviews and reponse from a seller can dispell any hesitation. Keep those bids low just in case. No matter what sort of auction we have all been stung on an item or 2... it's all part of the game. Look at it as exhilarating entertainment and keep buying what you love.
